USTs Removed: One 5,000-gallon, one 8,000-gallon, and one 10,000-gallon underground petroleum storage tank (UST)

At CRG Texas Environmental Services, Inc., we take pride in helping businesses safely and efficiently remove aging underground storage tanks. Our latest project in Fort Hancock, Tx was no exception!

What We Did

Our team was called in to remove three large USTs, along with their associated piping, fuel dispensers, and a metal canopy. Before getting started, we made sure all proper notifications and permits were in place, including reaching out to Texas 811 and TCEQ for clearance.

Once everything was greenlit, we got to work:

  • Disassembled & Removed Equipment – This included shutting off electrical connections, taking down the canopy, and removing all fuel dispensers and piping.
  • Broke Concrete & Excavated Tanks – Using specialized equipment, we carefully broke through the concrete, dug out the tanks, and ensured all hazardous materials were handled properly.
  • Tank Cleaning & Disposal – Each tank was thoroughly rinsed, inspected, and transported to a licensed disposal facility.
  • Backfilling & Site Cleanup – After the tanks were removed, we backfilled the excavation using select fill, compacted the area, and made sure the site was left clean and safe.
  • TCEQ Compliance & Reporting – We documented everything and submitted the required UST Closure Report to keep the client in compliance with environmental regulations.

Why This Matters

Removing old USTs is a crucial step in preventing soil contamination and ensuring compliance with state regulations. Our team made sure this project was handled efficiently and safely, helping our client move forward without the risks associated with aging underground fuel systems.
